About the role
The University of the Western Cape seeks a dedicated Lecturer to join the Department of Medical Biosciences. You will teach Physiology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, contribute to research, and support curriculum development.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate learning and teaching in Physiology across multiple modules.
- Conduct and publish research in the field of Physiology.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students, including Honours research.
- Provide academic leadership, administration, and curriculum development.
- Participate in community engagement and outreach activities.
- Contribute to departmental and faculty administrative duties as assigned.
Required profile
- MSc in Physiology and registration for a PhD with a clear completion plan.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching Physiology at higher education level.
- Evidence of high‑quality, peer‑reviewed research outputs.
- Record of postgraduate supervision at Honours level.
- Active involvement in community engagement linked to teaching or research.
