Garment Quality Team Leader

About the role

QIMA is seeking a Garment Quality Team Leader to manage a team of quality inspectors in Newcastle, South Africa. You will ensure inspections meet QIMA’s high standards while supporting client satisfaction and regional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise a team of 10‑15 quality inspectors, monitor performance through KPIs and implement corrective actions.
• Provide training, coaching and technical support, conduct performance evaluations and on‑site audits.
• Foster a strong sense of belonging to QIMA among team members.
• Identify and implement improvements to inspection standards to prevent quality issues.
• Lead client claim investigations and drive corrective action plans.
• Represent QIMA in client meetings, support sales development and launch new inspection programs.
• Oversee operational aspects of key‑account inspection programs across the region.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and factories, and work to optimise and reduce regional costs.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in engineering with strong familiarity with Quality Management or Product Organization.
• Practical experience performing QC inspections and a desire to improve internal protocols.
• Technology‑driven mindset and potential to manage high‑scale teams.
• Willingness to travel to meet team members, clients and factories.
• Excellent spoken and written English.

Required skills

• Experience conducting QC inspections in garment or consumer‑goods environments.
• Ability to travel to various sites as needed.
• Strong command of English (spoken and written).
