F&B Service Expert – Waiter

About the role

The Westin Cape Town is seeking enthusiastic Food & Beverage Service Experts to join our dining team. As a waiter, you will ensure a seamless guest experience by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service throughout the restaurant.

Key responsibilities

• Perform end‑of‑shift closing duties: store reusable items, break down goods, clean equipment, lock refrigerators, restock supplies, turn off lights and secure the venue.
• Set up, stock and maintain work areas, ensuring china, glassware and silver are spotless before service.
• Follow all safety, security and hygiene policies; report accidents or unsafe conditions promptly.
• Maintain a professional appearance, wear the correct uniform and nametag, and protect confidential information.
• Greet and acknowledge guests according to brand standards, answer phones courteously and communicate clearly.
• Support team members, foster positive relationships and contribute to achieving common goals.
• Adhere to quality expectations, perform visual checks of menus and signage, and follow clean‑as‑you‑go procedures.

Required profile

• Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift objects up to 50 lb without assistance.
• Fine motor skills and hand‑eye coordination for handling varied tableware.
• Comfort working on sloping, uneven or slippery surfaces, stairs and service ramps.
• Willingness to follow company policies, safety protocols and maintain confidentiality.
• Professional demeanor with strong customer‑service orientation.
