About the role

GIBB, a leading multidisciplinary engineering firm in Africa, is offering a 12‑month Youth Employment Service (YES) placement within its Structures delivery unit in Johannesburg. The programme is a business‑led collaboration with the South African government aimed at reducing youth unemployment by providing hands‑on experience on impactful civil engineering projects. Participants will work on site at GIBB’s Johannesburg office, receive a salary, and develop practical skills that improve long‑term employment prospects. Applicants must submit an updated CV, copies of qualifications, academic record and ID. The application deadline is 31 August 2026.

Required profile

Grade 12 (or equivalent) with Mathematics, Science and English.
BTech or BSc degree in Civil Engineering (or pursuing).
South African citizen born in South Africa.
Age between 18 and 35.
Unemployed and available for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract.
Not a previous YES beneficiary.
PC literate.
Aspiration to learn new civil‑engineering related skills.
Responsible and honest.
