Work Integrated Learning – HR & Community Development Placement

About the role

Umzimvubu Local Municipality is offering work‑integrated learning / in‑service training placements for students who need practical experience before completing their qualifications. The placements are available in Human Resources Management (Corporate Services) and in Citizen & Community Development / Public Administration / Management (Citizen & Community Services). Successful candidates will support the municipality’s mission to deliver quality, sustainable services and to improve the socio‑economic status of the broader community. The role is designed for self‑driven students from the municipality’s jurisdiction who wish to accelerate their careers while rendering high‑quality services.

Key responsibilities

• Support the delivery of quality municipal services in the assigned functional area.
• Assist HR or community development teams with day‑to‑day administrative and operational tasks.

Required profile

• Student from a registered higher‑education institution.
• Completed all theoretical learning for the relevant programme.
• Signed letter from the institution confirming the need for in‑service training.
• Resident of the Umzimvubu jurisdiction (Mount Frere – KwaBhaca or Mount Ayliff – EmaXesibeni) with proof of residence from a Ward Councillor.
• Curriculum Vitae, certified copies of educational certificates, South African ID copy, and completed application form.
