Sous Chef

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in delivering high‑quality food and service. The role combines hands‑on cooking, staff supervision, and operational management to maintain consistent standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen management and oversee food preparation.
• Supervise, train and motivate chefs, kitchen assistants and other staff.
• Ensure portion sizes, recipes, presentation and hygiene meet company standards.
• Participate in menu planning, recipe development and daily specials creation.
• Control stock levels, order ingredients and manage inventory rotation.
• Monitor food costs, wastage and enforce portion control to optimise profitability.

Required profile

• Relevant culinary qualification (preferred) and 3‑5 years of professional kitchen experience.
• Previous supervisory or senior chef role demonstrating leadership abilities.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and presentation.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and HACCP principles.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and communicate effectively with the team.
