About the role
Cox South Africa is seeking a Skills Development Manager to lead learning and development initiatives across its operations. Based in Johannesburg, the role ensures that workforce capabilities align with organisational goals and South African regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement and manage training programmes that close skills gaps and support corporate objectives.
- Coordinate the submission of annual Workplace Skills Plans (WSP) and Annual Training Reports (ATR) to meet compliance standards and optimise levy recovery.
- Collaborate with internal experts and external providers to develop curricula, learning solutions and innovative training initiatives.
- Engage with SETAs, service providers and internal stakeholders to ensure training effectiveness.
- Develop and apply metrics to evaluate training impact, ROI and measurable outcomes.
- Oversee financial, human and operational resources to deliver the skills development plan efficiently.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years of management experience in a multi‑site or large organisation.
- Proven experience in learning design, development and delivery.
- Familiarity with South African SETAs and skills development frameworks.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Education or Organizational Development (preferred).
- Knowledge of skills development legislation, BBBEE policies and compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets and teams effectively.
