Shift Boss

About the role

We are looking for a Shift Boss to lead the day‑to‑day mining operations on shift, ensuring safe, cost‑effective production while meeting quality and regulatory targets.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the mining team, fostering a safe and productive climate.
• Ensure SHEQ compliance through effective toolbox talks and use of the Information Management System (IMS).
• Inspect all workings, including blasted faces within 48 hours and non‑blasted areas weekly, recording findings in the logbook.
• Monitor and control the tactical plan to achieve the mining budget and shareholder value.
• Maintain labour stability, manage performance, conduct recruitment interviews and career discussions.
• Ensure availability of material for safe production and measure blasted panels for survey planning.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising mining crews and enforcing Mine Health and Safety Act regulations.
• Strong ability to manage labour complement within budget and drive performance against targets.
• Experience conducting inspections, reporting SHEQ status and handling disciplinary matters.
• Capability to coach, counsel and develop team members.
