Senior Lecturer / Lecturer – Ichthyology & Fisheries Science

About the role

The Department of Ichthyology and Fisheries Science is seeking qualified candidates for Senior Lecturer and Lecturer positions. Successful academics will contribute to teaching, research, and community engagement within the discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Ichthyology and Fisheries Science.
• Supervise research projects, including Master’s theses and, for senior lecturers, doctoral candidates.
• Develop and maintain an emerging national research profile through publications and grant acquisition.
• Participate in departmental, faculty, and university governance and administrative activities.

Required profile

• PhD in Ichthyology, Fisheries Science, or a closely related discipline.
• For Lecturer: tutoring, facilitation, or conference presentation experience; teaching experience is advantageous.
• For Senior Lecturer: proven teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Research supervision experience (at least Master’s level for senior lecturers).
• Evidence of research publications and, for senior lecturers, grant funding.
• Leadership or administrative experience, formal or informal.
