About the role

The Department of Ichthyology and Fisheries Science seeks qualified candidates for Professor and Associate Professor positions. The role involves leading teaching, research, and community engagement in aquaculture and related disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in aquaculture, including sustainable and ecosystems‑based approaches.
• Supervise Master’s and PhD research projects to successful completion.
• Develop and lead research programmes, publish findings, and attract external funding.
• Provide academic leadership and contribute to departmental, faculty, and university governance.
• Engage with industry and community stakeholders to promote knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• PhD in Fisheries Science, Aquaculture, or a closely related field with a strong aquaculture focus.
• Extensive teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• National or international research profile with a record of publications and funded projects.
• Experience in research supervision of Master’s and PhD candidates.
• Demonstrated administrative, management, or leadership experience within an academic setting.
