Security Manager

About the role

The Security Manager is responsible for overseeing all security operations, ensuring client satisfaction, and maintaining compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong leadership, risk assessment expertise, and the ability to respond swiftly to incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct threat and risk assessments and produce detailed reports.
• Manage client liaison, maintain professional relationships, and address complaints promptly.
• Oversee manpower planning, rostering, and equipment management.
• Ensure all contractual obligations, company SOPs, and BPC policies are consistently met.
• Lead incident investigations, compile evidence for disciplinary hearings, and manage health and safety protocols.
• Monitor security officer queries, provide real‑time resolutions, and ensure SLA compliance during after‑hours visits.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
• Coordinate training, assist with shift changes as a standby manager, and be available for urgent calls even on rest days.

Required profile

• PSIRA Grade A certification.
• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Valid firearm competency and Regulation 21 for business purposes.
• Proven experience in a managerial or similar security role.
• Strong knowledge of risk management and assessment techniques.
• Bilingual in English and any other South African language.
• Ability to work under pressure with excellent written and verbal communication.
• First aid and fire‑fighting training (advantageous).
• Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record.
• Own reliable transport and a valid Code 08 driver’s licence.
• Willingness to undergo a polygraph test and work after hours.
