About the role
The Host will support the restaurant manager in delivering exceptional guest experiences at Nobu, One&Only Cape Town. This front‑of‑house position involves greeting, seating, and assisting guests throughout their dining journey.
Key responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly, manage check‑in, and escort them to tables, sushi bar or lounge.
- Answer telephone calls with proper etiquette and handle reservation inquiries.
- Maintain the reservation book, update guest history, and communicate special requests to the manager.
- Monitor table turnover, report availability, and assist with bussing and resetting tables when needed.
- Support the manager with daily sales, cover count, and drink totals.
- Serve food and beverages according to restaurant standards, emphasizing speed and accuracy.
- Keep the dining area, equipment, and service stations clean and organized.
Required profile
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
- Calm under pressure with a flexible, service‑oriented attitude.
- Professional appearance and demeanor that enhances the guest experience.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
