Registered Nurse / Independent Clinical Technologist – Dialysis Practitioner

About the role

Melomed Renal Care is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse or Independent Clinical Technologist to join its multidisciplinary dialysis team in Gatesville. The successful candidate will deliver safe, evidence‑based dialysis care while supporting patient self‑management and collaborative decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality haemodialysis and/or peritoneal dialysis treatments in line with professional and regulatory standards.
• Operate dialysis machines and water‑treatment systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to coordinate patient care and improve outcomes.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality‑improvement initiatives, and continuous learning activities.
• Monitor clinical and patient‑reported outcomes, applying evidence‑based practice to enhance care throughout the patient journey.

Required profile

• Degree in Nursing or BTech in Clinical Technology.
• Registered with SANC as a Nurse/Midwife or with HPCSA as an Independent Clinical Technologist.
• 1‑2 years of experience in a haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis unit.
• Experience managing chronic kidney disease patients and providing education/counselling.
• Working knowledge of relevant South African health legislation and professional standards.
