Project Manager – Commercial Interior Fit-Outs

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial interior fit‑out and refurbishment projects for a well‑established design and fit‑out company in Sandton, Johannesburg. The role involves overseeing projects from initiation to handover, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage commercial interior fit‑out and refurbishment projects from start to final handover.
• Plan, program, budget, allocate resources and deliver projects.
• Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, designers and other stakeholders.
• Monitor timelines, milestones, costs, variations and expenditures.
• Liaise directly with clients and provide regular progress updates.
• Conduct site meetings, oversee site progress and quality.
• Identify risks, delays and cost implications and implement proactive solutions.
• Ensure work complies with approved drawings, specifications, health and safety regulations.
• Review and manage project documentation, quotations, schedules and progress reports.
• Work closely with the design team to translate design intent into the completed project.
• Manage snagging, practical completion and final handover.

Required profile

• Relevant construction project management experience or qualification.
• Proven experience managing commercial interior fit‑out projects.
• Experience with office fit‑out projects is highly advantageous.
• Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent qualification (essential/preferred).
• Strong understanding of construction processes, project costing and commercial project management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, contractors and stakeholders simultaneously.
