Project Manager – Building Construction Projects

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead building construction projects in Pretoria. The role involves overseeing projects from planning through hand‑over, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage multiple building construction projects.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets and resource plans.
• Oversee site activities to achieve project milestones.
• Manage contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants.
• Ensure compliance with construction regulations, health & safety and quality standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings.
• Monitor project costs and control budget expenditure.
• Prepare project reports and provide updates to management and clients.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Resolve site‑related challenges to minimise disruptions.
• Administer contracts and maintain project documentation.
• Ensure successful project handover and close‑out procedures.

Required profile

• Grade 12/Matric.
• Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Science, Project Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing commercial, residential or industrial building projects.
• Proven ability to deliver projects from planning to completion.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, regulations and project‑management principles.
• Experience managing contractors, subcontractors and site teams.
• Proficiency in MS Project, Microsoft Office and construction‑management software.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and problem‑solving skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Must be based in Pretoria.
