Production Operator – Cylinder Handling & Forklift

About the role

We are looking for a Production Operator to join our Germiston facility. You will be responsible for handling gas cylinders, operating forklifts and supporting daily production and inventory activities.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, sort and move empty gas cylinders to designated storage locations.
• Operate a forklift to load and unload pallets and vehicles, ensuring safe handling.
• Perform daily forklift checks using the prescribed checklist and record results.
• Participate in safety initiatives and adhere to legal and company compliance requirements.
• Maintain good housekeeping in the yard and support production operations to meet DIFOT targets.
• Assist the Inventory Team during stock counts.

Required profile

• Matric and/or N2 qualification.
• 3‑5 years of relevant experience in a production or warehouse environment.
• Ability to identify different cylinder gas types.
• Valid forklift operating licence and a valid cylinder handling certificate.
• Valid driver’s licence (minimum Code B).
