About the role

We are seeking an on‑site IT Support Technician to join a leading hotel in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town. The role combines technical troubleshooting with direct interaction with hotel management, staff, vendors, and guests in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day on‑site IT support to hotel staff and management.
  • Perform daily system check‑ins, proactive monitoring, and incident tracking via the helpdesk.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking and connectivity issues; escalate to third‑party vendors when needed.
  • Maintain accurate ticket documentation and report daily to hotel management and the account manager.
  • Support AV and conferencing equipment for meetings and events, ensuring functionality during start‑up periods.
  • Collaborate with the remote support team for escalations and backup assistance.
  • Assist with IT infrastructure upgrades and special projects across hotel and restaurant locations.

Required profile

  • Valid South African driver’s licence with reliable transport.
  • 3‑5+ years of experience in IT or systems support, preferably in hospitality.
  • Strong desktop and end‑user support background with excellent problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

  • Certifications such as A+, N+, MCSE, MCITP, Microsoft 365.
  • Microsoft Windows desktop installation, Office 365, Azure AD, MFA configuration.
  • Windows Server (2008‑2019) administration.
  • Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, WLAN/WAN/LAN, wireless configuration, network cabling.
  • Experience with Ubiquiti networking products.
  • Helpdesk/ticketing system proficiency.
  • Microsoft Exchange Server (2013/2016) and Exchange Online administration.
  • Microsoft 365 tenant management: user onboarding/offboarding, license and group management.
  • Familiarity with hotel property management and POS systems such as Micros POS and Opera PMS.
