Maintenance Technician – Automated Machinery

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure the reliable performance of SBV machinery on site. You will work closely with the Mechanical Maintenance Manager, executing preventative plans, diagnosing faults, and supporting our ESG and quality initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform repairs, preventative and corrective maintenance on automated, electro‑mechanical equipment.
• Execute daily equipment inspections, early fault detection and sensor analysis.
• Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts to minimise downtime.
• Document and audit monthly inventory and SARB test pack compliance.
• Compile daily and monthly performance reports, tracking uptime and downtime.
• Ensure adherence to ISO 9001:2015 standards and support ESG reporting.
• Act as a change champion, promoting company values and a performance‑driven culture.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years hands‑on experience as an on‑site technician supporting automated or industrial equipment.
• Experience with preventative and corrective maintenance following OEM schedules and site procedures.
• Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Millwright, Electrician, Fitter & Turner) or a National Diploma/NQF Level 5 in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics engineering (advantageous).
• Prior exposure to cash‑processing, banking, manufacturing or security‑controlled environments is a plus.
• Basic computer literacy (MS Office) for reporting and system updates.
