Yard Supervisor

About the role

The company is seeking a hands‑on Yard Supervisor to lead daily operations in a busy industrial yard in Gauteng. You will oversee loading, off‑loading, sorting and cutting activities while ensuring safety, productivity and team discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily yard operations including loading, off‑loading, sorting and cutting.
• Enforce discipline, punctuality and productivity among a team of 5‑10 staff.
• Conduct toolbox talks, allocate tasks clearly and plan to avoid bottlenecks.
• Ensure equipment and material readiness and maintain strict safety and PPE compliance.
• Complete basic administrative duties such as job cards, checklists and reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in a yard, industrial or production environment.
• Technical background with hands‑on experience operating guillotines, bandsaws or similar cutting machinery.
• Strong leadership ability and confidence in handling difficult staff.
• Good planning, organisation and communication skills.
• Basic computer literacy.
