Logistics Officer – Corridor Coordination & Network Design (SC9)

About the role

The World Food Programme is seeking a Logistics Officer to lead corridor coordination and network design for its Southern Africa operations. Based in Johannesburg, the incumbent will support the Global Corridor Operations Service (GCOS) in delivering efficient, end‑to‑end logistics across WFP‑managed corridors.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate logistics corridors within the Southern Africa region, ensuring alignment with regional and global strategies.
• Design and optimise network layouts to improve delivery speed, cost‑effectiveness and risk mitigation.
• Monitor corridor performance, identify early risks and propose corrective actions.
• Collaborate with regional offices, hubs and partners to maintain seamless supply chain operations.
• Provide regular reporting to the Global Corridor Operations Lead and the Head of Global Corridor Operations and Logistics.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience in logistics, supply chain or related field.
• Demonstrated experience in corridor coordination, network design or large‑scale humanitarian logistics.
• Strong analytical abilities and capacity to work in a multicultural, high‑pressure environment.
