Linkage Officer – PWID Programme (Cape Town)

About the role

The Linkage Officer will join TB HIV Care’s PWID Programme in Cape Town, focusing on HIV testing and ensuring people who inject drugs (PWID) are effectively linked to care. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the officer will support the organisation’s mission to provide comprehensive health services to high‑risk communities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct HIV testing for PWID according to national guidelines and programme protocols.
• Provide pre‑ and post‑test counselling and education.
• Navigate clients through referral pathways, coordinating with clinics, treatment centres and support services.
• Track and document linkage outcomes to ensure timely initiation of care.
• Collaborate with outreach teams to identify and engage PWID in the community.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to programme monitoring and reporting.

Required profile

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
