Legal Specialist

About the role

Scytale is seeking a proactive Legal Specialist to join its in‑house legal team. You will focus on drafting, reviewing and managing commercial contracts while gaining exposure to technology, data‑protection and compliance frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements such as NDAs, SaaS contracts, DPAs and vendor contracts.
• Support the full contract lifecycle and ensure alignment with internal policies.
• Provide practical, business‑focused legal advice on commercial, corporate and general matters.
• Identify legal risks, flag issues and collaborate with sales, product, compliance and operations teams.
• Assist with compliance initiatives related to SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR and other security frameworks.
• Help improve contract templates, internal policies and legal workflows for greater efficiency.

Required profile

• At least 2 years post‑articles experience in a high‑tech legal department or a commercial/high‑tech law‑firm practice.
• LLB or equivalent law degree and admission as an attorney in South Africa.
• Native‑level English proficiency.
• Strong analytical, organizational and business‑acumen skills.
