Legal Advisor

About the role

The Legal Advisor will provide expert legal advice, draft and review agreements, and support compliance activities for the finance function. Reporting to the Head of Legal, the role ensures the organisation meets all regulatory requirements while protecting its reputation and business interests.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate implementation of legal strategies, policies and risk‑mitigation measures.
• Negotiate, draft and review bespoke contracts, NDAs, terms and conditions, ensuring legislative compliance.
• Advise internal departments on legal requirements and support corporate governance activities.
• Manage the company’s panel of external legal experts and oversee litigation matters.
• Maintain contract repository, legal template register and perform general administrative tasks for the legal function.
• Support corporate secretarial duties, including board administration and company registration.
• Drive BBBEE transformation initiatives and monitor related progress.

Required profile

• Qualified legal professional with experience in corporate and commercial law.
• Strong understanding of South African legislation and international regulatory environments.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with business units.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
