Lead Account Manager – Sub‑Saharan Africa

About the role
We are seeking a Lead Account Manager to join our Sub‑Saharan Africa Customer Success Organization, with a focus on South and Central Africa. The role is responsible for delivering comprehensive customer coverage, managing relationships, and positioning UOP process technologies, products, equipment and services to maximise market share.
Key responsibilities
- Own the full relationship with existing customers and develop strong ties from executive to operational levels.
- Engage with complex international and growing independent companies to understand their business drivers and propose UOP solutions.
- Identify sales opportunities across all UOP business lines and manage the intake process, including RFQ and proposal reviews.
- Prepare sales and technical strategies, organise pricing and bid meetings, and deliver proposals.
- Collaborate with Project Sales on revamp and new‑unit sales, maintaining relationships throughout project execution.
- Negotiate commercial agreements for aftermarket business, including catalysts, equipment parts, services and studies.
- Forecast weekly sales and revenues, report won/lost outcomes, and manage accounts receivable.
- Gather competitive intelligence and communicate insights within UOP.
Required profile
- Strong technical and commercial background with a proven track record in sales.
- Motivation to meet customer needs and achieve annual sales objectives.
- Ability to understand complex value‑selling scenarios and customer business models.
- Excellent communication skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement.
Required skills
- Knowledge of UOP Technologies and engineered products.
- Understanding of the licensing business model.
