Junior Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Maintenance Technician to support our manufacturing plant in Germiston. The role involves electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault finding, and preventative tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to electrical and mechanical breakdowns.
• Conduct inspections and carry out preventative maintenance.
• Assist with installation and upkeep of plant equipment and machinery.
• Minimise downtime during set‑ups and line changes.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Complete maintenance tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Perform shift, overtime and standby duties as required.

Required profile

• Qualification in Electrical, Millwright or Mechatronics.
• Millwright Trade Test with limited or no post‑trade experience.
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving ability and capacity to work independently under pressure.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Safety‑conscious with strong housekeeping practices.

Required skills

• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Working knowledge of PLC and HMI systems.
• PLC/HMI coding experience.
• Basic computer literacy; SAP experience advantageous.
• Mechanical and electrical fault‑finding abilities.
