Junior Legal Advisor and Contract Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Legal Advisor and Contract Manager to support the Chief Legal and Commercial Officer. The role combines legal advisory duties with end‑to‑end contract management in a hybrid setting between Houghton and Pretoria.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day legal and administrative support to the Chief Legal and Commercial Officer.
• Draft, review and vet commercial agreements such as NDAs, supplier and customer contracts.
• Manage the full contract lifecycle, from negotiation to execution and compliance monitoring.
• Maintain a centralised contract register and track key milestones, renewals and obligations.
• Offer practical legal guidance to internal departments and identify commercial risks.
• Support compliance with South African legislation, including the Companies Act, BEE, Employment Equity and corporate governance requirements.
• Prepare and file statutory returns with the CIPC and other regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Relevant tertiary qualification such as LLB, BCom Law or Contract Management.
• Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience in a legal or contract management role.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency in Adobe.
