Attorney / Legal Manager – Community Schemes & Home Owners Associations

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated legal professional to join our Polokwane office and take full responsibility for managing our growing portfolio of Home Owners Association (HOA) and community scheme matters. This hands‑on, client‑facing position provides practical, strategic support on complex files involving debt recovery, clearance certificates, and director‑level advice.

Key responsibilities

• End‑to‑end management of key HOA accounts, including debt collection strategies, clearance processes, and risk management.
• Drafting letters of demand, legal opinions, resolutions, and court documents.
• Advising HOA directors on compliance with MOIs, the Sectional Titles Schemes Management Act, and related legislation.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships while staying proactive and solution‑focused.
• Anticipating issues, handling sensitive negotiations, and protecting both the client and the firm.
• Contributing to the growth of the community‑schemes practice in the Polokwane office.

Required profile

• Admitted attorney with proven hands‑on experience in sectional title, home owners associations, community schemes, debt collection, and clearance certificates.
• Junior attorneys or managers with a strong, relevant track record are encouraged to apply.
• Good working knowledge of the Sectional Titles Schemes Management Act, Conduct Rules, and older Section 21 company MOIs is advantageous.
• Clear, practical drafting skills and the ability to give straightforward legal advice.
• Strong people skills – confident managing clients and difficult conversations professionally.
• Based in (or willing to relocate to) Polokwane; full‑time office‑based position.
