Human Capital Management Officer (Mokala National Park)

About the role

The Human Capital Management Officer will support the Park Manager at Mokala National Park by overseeing recruitment, employee data integrity, and HR administration. The role includes on‑site accommodation and contributes to the implementation of SANParks' HCM strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Administer recruitment and selection processes, from advert drafting to onboarding.
• Maintain accurate employee data in SAGE 300 People Management Module.
• Coordinate induction, exit procedures, and leave management.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual HCM reports and performance management data.
• Assist with investigations, death claim payments, injury‑on‑duty claims and uniform administration.
• Support employee wellness initiatives and learning & development programmes.
• Provide guidance on HCM policies, labour relations and represent HCM in disciplinary hearings.
• Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance and data accuracy.

Required profile

• National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Human Resource Management or equivalent; a degree in HR or Social Science is an advantage.
• 2–4 years of experience in a similar HCM role and at least 2 years in a clerical capacity.
• Valid Code B driver’s licence (advantageous).
• Strong knowledge of South African HR legislation (BCEA, EE, LRA, Skills Development Act).
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and handle confidential information.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Experience with HR information systems, specifically SAGE 300.
