Higher Education Lecturer – Hospitality

About the role

The International Hotel School Durban Campus seeks a passionate Higher Education Lecturer to inspire and guide undergraduate hospitality students. You will share industry knowledge, support personal development, and help shape successful career pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and practical sessions to undergraduate hospitality students.
• Develop and update curriculum and assessment materials in line with industry standards.
• Maintain accurate student records, grading and administrative documentation.
• Use hospitality‑related computer software to support teaching and assessment.
• Monitor student throughput and pass rates, providing feedback to improve outcomes.

Required profile

• NQF Level 7 qualification in hospitality (essential).
• Registration with ETDP SETA as an assessor (beneficial).
• Scoped by CATHSSETA (beneficial).
• Minimum five years of practical experience in the hospitality industry.
• At least two years of lecturing or teaching experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hospitality‑related computer software.
