Head of Reinsurance Accounting – Pretoria

About the role

The Head of Reinsurance Accounting is responsible for the end‑to‑end Reinsurance Accounting and Analytics process, contributing to the design and implementation of the Reinsurance strategy, data and system requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Full responsibility for monthly, quarterly and annual Reinsurance reporting and analysis.
• Design and implement system and process solutions for all Reinsurance agreements.
• Manage internal and external audit engagements related to Reinsurance.
• Ensure Reinsurance claims are fully recovered and accounted for across all treaties.
• Set and achieve financial Reinsurance targets up to R1 billion.
• Provide input into capital modelling, risk profiles and Reinsurance governance.

Required profile

• Matric qualification; CA (SA) highly preferred.
• At least 10 years of insurance experience, with a minimum of 5 years in reinsurance.
• Proven ability to lead a team and manage performance.
• Strong stakeholder management with external reinsurers, brokers and auditors.
