Freight Forwarder – Automotive Import Operations

About the role

DSV is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder to manage import operations for the automotive logistics sector in East London. The role ensures efficient, compliant handling of documentation, customs clearance, cargo movement and financial accuracy while providing reliable client support.

Key responsibilities

• Capture charges and register shipments in Cargowise (CW1).
• Track shipments, retrieve shipping documents and engage origin offices and carriers.
• Follow up carrier invoices, ANFs and vendor invoice queries.
• Maintain shipment files, update milestones and lane‑specific rates monthly.
• Produce shipment status reports and support client lead with ad‑hoc projects.
• Process ocean import quotes and meet defined KPIs.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years experience in freight forwarding and controlling.
• Matric qualification (essential); industry or tertiary qualification advantageous.
• Knowledge of INCOTERMS® 2010, international logistics and automotive sector.
• Strong communication and client‑facing experience.

Required skills

• Office 365 suite (Teams, OneNote, Forms, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Cargowise (CW1) proficiency.
