Freight Forwarder – Air & Sea

About the role

DSV is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder to manage air and sea cargo movements to and from SADC destinations. The role involves coordinating export and import shipments, handling customs clearance, and ensuring timely delivery across borders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage export and import cargo for SADC destinations, meeting set metrics.
• Coordinate RIT shipments from ports or airports to SADC countries.
• Oversee BV inspections and control all shipment areas.
• Handle customs clearance and forwarding processes.
• Register shipments, cost, invoice, and generate operational reports.
• Liaise with transporters, border agents, and destination offices.
• Track shipments, update milestones, and resolve queries.
• Prepare load authority applications, book vehicles, and submit files to customs.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of freight forwarding experience.
• Strong knowledge of Incoterms, SADC region logistics, and customs procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with professional email etiquette.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage overtime when required.
• Reliable personal transport to and from work.
