Financial Accountant – Fixed-Term (12 months)

About the role

Capitec is seeking a Financial Accountant on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract to lead and coordinate a Fixed Assets project in Stellenbosch. The role will ensure the accuracy and integrity of asset data, guide administrators, and maintain high‑quality fixed‑asset accounting and system integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Record all financial accounting transactions accurately and reflect them in financial results.
• Review and analyse financial results to ensure completeness and integrity of records.
• Perform and review balance‑sheet reconciliations, substantiating all balances.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise and technical guidance on fixed‑asset accounting.
• Oversee data quality and compliance within the Fixed Assets project.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Financial Accounting).
• Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles.
• 0–2 years post‑articles experience in financial accounting.
• Knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, South African tax (VAT) and computerised accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Clear criminal and credit record.
