Finance Controller – Cape Town

About the role

Apex Group is looking for a Finance Controller to join its Finance Division in Cape Town. Reporting to a Senior Manager, you will act as the legal entity controller for the Americas, ensuring accurate accounting, timely reporting and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee month‑end close for multiple legal entities, aligning with group policies.
• Manage legal entity audits and ensure financial statements are submitted before regulatory deadlines.
• Produce statutory financial statements and regulatory reports to meet capital requirements.
• Supervise payment procedures and cash management across entities.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and liaise with the Head of Finance – Americas and local Managing Directors.
• Provide accounting support to billing and FP&A teams and stay updated on IFRS developments.
• Handle ad‑hoc requests as needed.

Required profile

• 0‑2 years post‑article experience in accounting or finance.
• Recognised accreditation such as CA, CIMA or CPA.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and able to meet deadlines under pressure.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with accounting systems and general IT tools.
• Knowledge of IFRS and exposure to US GAAP.
