Entry-Level Operations Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an entry‑level Operations Engineer to join our team in Menlyn, South Africa. The role focuses on building and maintaining automated pipelines, managing cloud infrastructure, and supporting the reliability of our services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Incident, Change and Problem Management support following ITIL processes.
• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD and GitOps pipelines using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
• Deploy and configure applications on Kubernetes using Helm charts.
• Monitor systems with Grafana, Prometheus and Loki and respond to alerts.
• Assist in worldwide rollout projects, migrating legacy systems to new platforms.
• Participate in daily Scrum ceremonies via MS Teams, including planning, estimation and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and support existing DevOps solutions.

Required profile

• Relevant IT degree, diploma or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and good communication skills.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.

• Public cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS.
• Grafana, Prometheus and Loki for monitoring.
• Linux operating system and Bash scripting.
• Kubernetes deployment and configuration, Helm.
• Java (version 17 preferred), Kafka, Quarkus, Hibernate, PostgreSQL.
• Git version control and branching strategies.
• Confluence and Jira for documentation and ticketing.
