Electronic Technician

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Electronic Technician to join a well‑established company in Edenvale. You will provide technical support, perform field installations and repairs, and ensure our security and radio systems operate flawlessly.

Key responsibilities

• Provide telephonic technical support, guiding customers through installation, operation and troubleshooting.
• Log, track and resolve support calls with timely follow‑up.
• Monitor and report on communications infrastructure performance.
• Perform field repairs, maintenance and installations of radio systems, base stations and repeaters.
• Travel nationally and internationally for installations and customer support.
• Assist the Technical Manager and support other technical staff.
• Support Sales & Marketing during customer visits, demos and exhibitions.
• Participate in rotational after‑hours standby support.
• Maintain professional image and handle general administrative duties.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of basic electronics principles.
• Proven ability to fault‑find and repair electronic equipment.
• Experience in the security industry, especially alarm systems and control panels.
• Knowledge of security control‑room operations and alarm communication infrastructure.
• Proficient in spoken English or Afrikaans with a customer‑focused attitude.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
