E&I/Electrical & Instrumentation Site Supervisor: mining projects

About the role

The client, an established Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineering firm, seeks an E&I Site Supervisor to oversee installation works on EPCM mining projects across sites such as Thabazimbi, Rustenburg, Mooinooi or Steelpoort. The role involves on‑site supervision, ensuring compliance with technical, safety and contractual standards while coordinating with engineers and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise installation contractors during construction to guarantee compliance with client requirements and safety processes, including lock‑out procedures.
• Coordinate delivery, off‑loading and inspection of free‑issue materials, maintaining accurate records and controls.
• Monitor contractor performance against programme and contractual obligations, issuing non‑conformance reports, snag lists and variation orders as needed.
• Approve and inspect quality assurance plans, sign‑off completed installation modules, and ensure all QA documentation is issued to project engineers and the client.
• Assist with commissioning, site acceptance tests and the preparation of red‑line drawings for the drawing office.

Required profile

• Matric qualification plus 10+ years of proven experience with EPCM consultants in the mining sector.
• Relevant technical qualification (Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering or similar); Project Management Diploma is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of medium‑voltage (MV) and low‑voltage (LV) reticulation and instrumentation systems.
• Excellent communication, organisational and management skills, with the ability to work independently.
