Driver – Limpopo – Mining & Industrial Transport

About the role

The driver will ensure safe, efficient, and compliant transport of goods, equipment and personnel across mine sites in Limpopo. The role demands full vehicle readiness, professional client interaction and strict adherence to safety and mining regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan routes and delivery schedules to optimise time and fuel usage.
• Conduct daily pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete checklists.
• Secure all loads correctly and verify delivery documentation before departure.
• Represent the company professionally on‑site, sign and return PODs, and report any discrepancies immediately.
• Verify stock quantities before loading and after delivery, reporting shortages or damages.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, monitor fuel usage, track service intervals and report defects promptly.
• Comply with Mine Health & Safety Act, participate in risk assessments and exercise stop‑work authority when unsafe conditions arise.
• Submit daily logbooks, trip sheets, fuel slips and delivery paperwork; escalate delays, breakdowns or incidents without delay.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in a similar driving role, preferably in mining or industrial environments.
• Valid Code 10 driver’s licence with PDP.
• Experience working on mine sites is advantageous.
• High level of responsibility, strong situational awareness and ability to work under pressure.
• Good judgement, decision‑making and clear communication with dispatch and supervisors.

Required skills

• Knowledge of mine‑site driving requirements.
• Understanding of load‑securing principles.
• Basic mechanical awareness to identify faults early.
• Familiarity with compliance documentation such as PODs, logbooks and inspection sheets.
