Director: District and Local Performance Monitoring

About the role

The Department of Local Government, Western Cape Government is seeking a senior leader to head the District and Local Performance Monitoring directorate. This role will oversee an integrated municipal monitoring system that provides critical data to support municipalities across the province.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the District and Local Performance Monitoring directorate.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the integrated municipal monitoring system.
• Analyse performance data to inform provincial municipal support strategies.
• Produce regular reports and dashboards for senior government officials.
• Coordinate with municipal officials and other stakeholders to ensure effective monitoring and improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Demonstrated commitment to public service and improving citizen outcomes.
• Extensive experience in managing large‑scale performance monitoring or data‑driven programmes.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement abilities.
