Cybersecurity Analyst (Remote – South Africa)

About the role

Aculocity is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to strengthen the security posture of its global infrastructure, manufacturing, and software development operations. Based in South Africa, the role offers remote flexibility while aligning working hours with the U.S.-based Infrastructure and Security team. You will monitor, investigate, and respond to security incidents while supporting compliance initiatives across a diverse, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor and analyze security alerts using Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel.
• Investigate incidents, assess business impact, and coordinate response and remediation actions.
• Develop custom Sentinel rules, playbooks, and automation to improve detection and response capabilities.
• Implement and maintain security controls across cloud and on‑premises environments.
• Administer Microsoft security tools, including Defender for Endpoint, Identity, Cloud, and Entra ID (Azure AD).
• Collaborate with the global security team to enhance visibility, resilience, and incident‑response processes.
• Conduct periodic assessments and contribute to compliance initiatives aligned with NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
• Work with IT and business teams to ensure secure day‑to‑day operations and promote a security‑first culture.
• Support the creation and maintenance of cybersecurity policies, standards, and best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC operations, or a related IT security role.
• Formal degree not required if you hold recognized certifications or have strong hands‑on experience.
