Cybersecurity Analyst – Remote (South Africa)

About the role

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to strengthen the security posture of Aculocity’s global infrastructure, manufacturing, and software development operations. Based in South Africa, the role offers remote flexibility while collaborating with our U.S.-based Infrastructure and Security team.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor and analyze security alerts using Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel.
• Investigate incidents, assess business impact, and coordinate response and remediation actions.
• Develop and tune custom Sentinel detection rules, playbooks and automation to improve response capabilities.
• Implement and maintain security controls across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Administer Microsoft security tools including Defender for Endpoint, Identity, Cloud and Entra ID (Azure AD).
• Collaborate with the global security team to enhance visibility, resilience and incident response processes.
• Conduct periodic assessments and support compliance initiatives aligned with NIST, ISO 27001 and GDPR.
• Participate in risk management, threat intelligence and post-incident review activities.
• Work with IT and business units to ensure secure day-to-day operations and promote a security-first culture.
• Assist in creating and maintaining cybersecurity policies, standards and best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC operations or a related IT security role.
• Formal degree not required if you hold recognized certifications or have proven hands‑on experience.
• Analytical, proactive and able to work independently in a remote environment.
