Cost Accountant – Manufacturing (Port Elizabeth)

About the role

We are seeking a Cost Accountant to join our factory finance team in Port Elizabeth. You will provide costing and financial support, ensuring accurate product costing, inventory control, and compliance with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain standard costing for raw materials, labour and overheads.
• Prepare monthly costing schedules and reports.
• Assist with inventory valuation, stock counts and variance investigations.
• Verify Bills of Material and routing accuracy in SAP.
• Analyse material, labour and overhead variances and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and month‑end closing activities.
• Maintain costing master data, BOMs and overhead rates in SAP.
• Provide first‑line support for costing and SAP queries.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting or Cost & Management Accounting (NQF 6/7).
• 3–7 years of experience in a manufacturing or factory finance environment.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and IFRS IAS 2.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
