Corporate Tax Consulting Consultant

About the role

The Corporate Tax Consulting Consultant will join the Corporate Tax team to deliver high‑quality tax advisory, compliance support and technical insights to clients across multiple industries. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Tax Consulting, the role blends technical tax delivery, client service and business development.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review income tax and deferred tax computations, including audit‑department reviews.
• Draft technically sound tax opinions, reports and advice for clients and internal teams.
• Identify tax risks, propose mitigation solutions and conduct technical research using tax and legal resources.
• Support audit engagements, liaise with audit partners and interact with SARS on assessments, audits and objections.
• Visit client sites to analyse, remediate and resolve tax issues while maintaining strong client relationships.
• Assist in proposal preparation, thought‑leadership development and service‑offering design.
• Manage engagement budgets, billing and time recording to meet financial targets.
• Provide guidance, coaching and workflow management for junior staff.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting (essential) and BCom Honours in Accounting or Taxation (essential).
• 3‑5 years’ experience as a Corporate Tax Consultant.
• Professional designation: SAICA (or progressing toward CA(SA)) and/or SAIT membership.
• Strong knowledge of the Income Tax Act and corporate law, with the ability to apply legislative concepts to practical scenarios.
