Finance Controller – Finance CA(SA)

About the role

Apex Group is seeking a Finance Controller for its Cape Town office to act as the legal entity controller for the Americas. The role focuses on accurate accounting, cost review, and ensuring the integrity of financial records across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee timely month‑end close for several legal entities, aligning with group and company policies.
• Manage legal entity audits and ensure financial statements are submitted before regulatory deadlines.
• Produce statutory financial statements and regulatory reports, maintaining compliance with capital requirements.
• Supervise payment procedures and cash management for multiple entities.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and liaise with the Head of Finance – Americas and local Managing Directors.
• Provide finance reporting to entity boards and accounting support to billing and FP&A teams.
• Stay current on IFRS developments and handle ad‑hoc requests as needed.

Required profile

• Recognised accreditation (CA, CIMA, CPA) with 0‑2 years post‑article experience.
• Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
• Self‑motivated, proactive, resilient and resourceful.
• Ability to meet agreed deadlines, work under pressure and operate independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel.
• Experience with accounting systems and general IT tools.
• Good knowledge of IFRS.
• Exposure to US GAAP.
