Corporate & Commercial Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a Corporate & Commercial Legal Counsel to join OneDome’s Group Legal function from our Cape Town office. Reporting directly to the Group General Counsel in the UK, you will work on live cross‑border M&A transactions and day‑to‑day commercial contracts, gaining English‑law transactional experience while remaining based in South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate transactional documents such as share purchase agreements, options, loan agreements and related ancillaries.
• Prepare and update standard transaction templates and ancillary agreements.
• Review and negotiate commercial contracts, NDAs and other routine agreements.
• Communicate directly with counterparties and their advisers on live deals, taking instructions from senior legal colleagues.
• Support corporate and commercial matters across the group as they arise.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in corporate and commercial law.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical and drafting skills.
• Comfortable handling English‑law‑governed documents; prior exposure to English law is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with international stakeholders.

Required skills

• Negotiating commercial contracts and NDAs.
• Understanding of cross‑border M&A processes.
