About the role
World Fuel is seeking a Contracts Counsel to join its global legal team and provide hands‑on legal support to the aviation fuel trading business. Based in Cape Town with a hybrid work model, you will act as a trusted advisor to the trading operations and help shape commercial strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Advise on aviation fuel product sale, purchase, logistics and service agreements.
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts across World Fuel’s global operations.
- Provide legal advice on commercial issues related to international fuel trading activities.
- Promote a strong culture of compliance and ethical business practices.
- Develop contract templates and improve legal workflow processes.
- Educate internal teams on legal best practices and contract management.
- Build relationships with internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers.
- Represent World Fuel with professionalism, integrity and a solutions‑oriented mindset.
Required profile
- Attorney qualified at a leading South African law firm.
- 2–5 years post‑qualification experience (PQE); candidates with stronger experience may be considered.
- Commercially minded with the ability to balance risk and business opportunity.
- Willingness to work collaboratively across global offices.
