Construction Manager – 12 Month Contract (Onsite)

About the role

The Construction Manager will lead the planning, execution and close‑out of construction activities for a mining project in Burgersfort. This is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract working full‑time onsite, reporting to the Project Management team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Construction Execution Plan (CEP) and provide constructability input during design.
• Coordinate site establishment, logistics, sequencing and ensure early works align with HSE requirements.
• Maintain the construction scope baseline, manage scope changes and update the change register.
• Support schedule development, track progress against baseline, and produce weekly/monthly progress reports.
• Provide field cost data, monitor expenditures, identify overruns and assist cash‑flow forecasting.
• Implement QA/QC plans, conduct site inspections, sign off contractor deliverables and maintain documentation registers.
• Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act, conduct toolbox talks, HSE audits and manage PTW/LOTO systems.
• Interface with engineering, procurement, project controls, contractors, vendors and regulatory bodies, delivering structured progress reports.
• Oversee contractor mobilisation, workforce productivity, performance reviews and dispute resolution.
• Maintain risk, issue, change, QA, decision and incident registers; support project close‑out activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction management, preferably on mining or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of construction planning, scope and change management, schedule control and cost forecasting.
• Demonstrated ability to enforce QA/QC and HSE standards on site.
• Excellent stakeholder coordination skills, with experience managing contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
