Community Liaison Officer for Kwaggafontein Stadium Upgrade

About the role

Thembisile Hani Local Municipality is seeking a Community Liaison Officer (CLO) to support the Kwaggafontein Stadium upgrade project in Ward 26. The CLO will be employed by the Contractor for the duration of the construction contract and will act as the primary bridge between the local community and the construction team.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise between the community and the Contractor to ensure local needs are addressed.
• Facilitate communication among the Project Steering Committee, THLM, the community and the Contractor.
• Maintain a database of local resources and connect them with the Contractor.
• Keep the Contractor and THLM informed of community affairs and potential dynamics.
• Assist supervisory staff in managing workers on site.
• Report monthly on local involvement, training initiatives and equity status of employees.

Required profile

• South African citizen, resident of Ward 26 with thorough knowledge of the area.
• Fluent in English and Nguni languages (read, write, speak).
• Currently unemployed, reliable and accountable.
• Willing to work under difficult conditions and weekends.
• Possess conflict‑resolution and organisational‑development skills.
• Understanding of construction processes and able to communicate with contractors and subcontractors.
• Must not be a contractor or subcontractor.
