Communication Researcher, Deputy Manager – Communication, and Air Quality Officer

About the role

The Mopani District Municipality is recruiting for several key positions to support its communication strategy and environmental management, including a Communication Researcher, a Deputy Manager – Communication, and an Air Quality Officer.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse media agenda, conduct communication research and prepare reports to inform municipal interventions.
• Develop and implement internal and external communication strategies, manage media relations and oversee event communications.
• Design and operate air quality monitoring programmes, set standards, manage emissions inventories and enforce compliance.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor’s degree or higher) in communication, journalism, public health, environmental health or related fields.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in the respective discipline.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to obtain security clearance.

Required skills

• Research and analytical skills.
• Computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of media analysis tools and communication research methodologies.
