About the role
DHL Express is seeking a Business Development Specialist to drive growth by acquiring new customers for heavier‑weight express shipments (30–1000 kg). You will act as a New Business Hunter, identifying opportunities, presenting tailored logistics solutions, and ensuring a smooth handover to account management.
Key responsibilities
- Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities for heavier‑weight shipments across the country.
- Collaborate with Core and Retail Sales teams to leverage customer knowledge and win new contracts.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline through targeted prospecting, networking, and strategic territory planning.
- Conduct in‑depth customer needs analysis and propose customized DHL Express solutions that balance network capability, transit time, cost, and reliability.
- Negotiate and close deals to achieve profitable, sustainable growth.
- Coordinate onboarding with internal stakeholders and ensure seamless transition to Core Sales for ongoing account management.
- Work with other DHL Group business units to respond to cross‑company commercial opportunities.
- Research market trends, customer sectors, and competitive activity to prioritize target industries such as industrial, automotive, technology, manufacturing, and healthcare.
- Provide market feedback to Product, Pricing, and Marketing teams to support service innovation.
